How to Copy Telegram Trading Signals to cTrader

AlgoWay processes messages from your chosen Telegram channel and sends validated trade commands to a linked cTrader account. The platform has two connection types: cTrader O-API and cTrader FIX-P.

This guide explains connecting cTrader through O-API OAuth or FIX-P and selecting your Telegram channel. The universal sizing and message-processing options are documented separately in Telegram Copier settings; no TradingView alert is needed. Open Telegram Copier Parameters.

Step 1. Choose cTrader O-API or FIX-P

O-API authorizes a selected Demo or Live trading account using OAuth and supports applicable Stop Loss, Take Profit and trailing-stop management. FIX-P uses special FIX trading-session credentials for basic execution and does not support SL, TP or trailing stops through this AlgoWay route. Use O-API if your Telegram provider's signals rely on these protective levels.

Step 2. Create the Telegram to cTrader route

  1. In AlgoWay open Telegram Copier > Create New Telegram Copier, then select the applicable trial or subscription option.
  2. Choose Telegram under Source (from) and cTrader O-API or cTrader FIX-P under Platform (to). These are separate destinations.
  3. Complete the corresponding authorization below. Review quantity multiplier and trading mode, then create the route for the correct cTrader account.

Step 3A. Connect through cTrader OAuth O-API

  1. In the O-API connection form click Get Token from cTrader.
  2. Sign in at id.ctrader.com, select the intended Demo or Live account and approve Allow access.
  3. Back in AlgoWay verify the populated Account ID, Account Type, Access Token, Refresh Token and token expiry fields belong to that account.
  4. Review the route's size, trade type and optional symbol mapping settings and save. Keep OAuth tokens private; they are not part of Telegram messages.

Step 3B. Alternative: connect cTrader FIX-P

  1. Open your cTrader account and navigate to Settings > FIX API.
  2. Select the trade FIX session, not the price connection. Copy Server, Port and SenderCompID and set a dedicated FIX password.
  3. Enter these credentials in the AlgoWay cTrader FIX-P form and save. Do not use your ordinary cTrader password in place of the FIX password.

The FIX-P connection does not support setting or updating SL/TP or trailing stops. If those are needed, create a cTrader O-API route instead.

Connect your Telegram account and signal channel

Connect the Telegram account that already has access to your signal channel. Telegram Copier Settings supports two login methods:

  1. On the Telegram Copier dashboard, click the gear icon for the new route and choose the correct Telegram Source Webhook.
  2. Option 1 — Verification code: Enter your Telegram phone number with country code and click Send Code. Check the official Telegram service chat on your active devices or SMS if Telegram offers that delivery method. Enter the code in Verification Code, provide the 2FA Password if required, and click Connect Telegram. A successful request does not necessarily mean that Telegram delivered a code.
  3. Option 2 — QR code: Click Connect with QR Code. On your phone, open Telegram > Settings > Devices > Link Desktop Device, scan the QR displayed in AlgoWay and confirm the login. The QR refreshes automatically. If Telegram requires your two-step verification password, enter it in AlgoWay. No verification-code message is required for this method.
  4. Once Telegram is connected, under Step 2. Select Source Chat, click Load My Chats, select the channel or group that publishes signals, review the copy settings, select Enable Telegram Copier and click Save Copier. You will return to the Telegram Copier dashboard.

Code not arriving? If no code appears after about one minute, use QR login instead. When switching from an already connected Telegram account, click Disconnect Telegram before starting a new login. Do not scan a QR from any documentation screenshot: always generate a fresh QR on your own settings page.

The Telegram account must already have access to the channel. Connecting the account without selecting a source chat does not activate trade copying.

Next step — adjust the copying rules. Open Telegram Copier Settings & Parameters after finishing the cTrader connection and Telegram channel selection.

Examples for cTrader: When your signal provider includes SL and TP, use cTrader O-API for supported protective orders; AlgoWay's FIX-P route does not manage SL/TP. Then consult SL/TP Requirement to require protected signals, Entry Order Mode for market or pending entries, and Default Size Mode for signal sizing.

To start copying, select Enable Telegram Copier and click Save Copier. Double-check the source chat and destination account before allowing live orders. After saving, AlgoWay returns to the Telegram Copier dashboard.
